Boating & Horse Riding, Ooty Lake
Boating and pony rides on Ooty Lake are the classic family afternoon in the hills — pedal- and row-boats from the lakeside boathouse, with horse rides along the shore.
History
Ooty Lake was created in the early 1820s by John Sullivan, the founder of the hill station, by damming the mountain streams; the boathouse has been a centre of holiday life ever since.
