Quiet lanes through working tea and Badaga hattis on the lower slopes east of Kotagiri, with long views to the plains.
Kil ('lower') Kotagiri and Aravenu are smallholder tea country dotted with Badaga villages.
Estate roads make for gentle, self-guided walks past plucking sheds and village temples.
Several producers here sell directly; ask locally about farm-gate tea and millet from nearby co-operatives.
