Wenlock Downs & 6th Mile

Open rolling downs of grass and lone shola clumps — the '6th Mile / Shooting Point' is the most filmed landscape in the Nilgiris.
The downs are a surviving stretch of the open grassland that once covered the upper plateau.
The 6th Mile pull-off is a long-running film location; expect a few horses and snack stalls at weekends.
Pair it with Pykara and Glenmorgan for a half-day loop west of Ooty.
